Kitchen Cart

The assembled and finished product is very good! The assembled cart is sturdy, looks good, and is very functional. The stainless steel top (laminated) is very functional and easy to keep clean. The two drawers provide a place for frequently used items. The three pull out baskets and three racks provide flexible storage space. This is not a large unit; but, is is not a small unit. It is perfect for smaller to mid-size kitchens.

The negatives are the poor instructions (no verbiage and confusing pictures) and poor packaging. My unit arrived with damage due to poor packaging. The exterior package had minor damage. During assembly I encountered two damaged pieces due to poor packaging. If the interior packaging was proper, the unit would not have arrived damaged. There were two relatively easy to fix (provided you have tools and are handy) problems. I decided to repair the two non-showing items rather than ship the unit back.

We live in a very small NYC apartment. Items like this really help to use our space more productively. We can use if for storage and then roll it out to use for cooking or as a place to drain dishes if the rest of the cabinet is taken up with other things. Only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the instructions for putting it together are not completely intuitive. No words at all but a couple of the pictures can allow you to put it together with the drawers winding up on the bottom. But it was really easy to take apart and put back together the right way. Also, it came out of the box with a couple of dinks in the top that seem to be a manufacturing issue.

I usually don't write reviews unless I'm upset with a product. This is probably the worst product I purchased on Amazon. I agree with several other reviewers. Basically this cart is a piece of crap. The photo is VERY misleading. It makes the cart look much larger than it is. They are taking the picture on their knees, trust me. It is made of soft pine and in my example they crudely covered knot holes with putty (it's not even clear pine.....) The operation of the drawers is very crude: you have to hold the cart when opening the drawer or the cart comes with it. The wire on the baskets, while functional, is very thin -think along the lines of half the diameter of a wire coat hanger. Again the sliding of the wire baskets is very crude. The stainless steel top is VERY thin. I didn't dent it yet, but you can tell it is not sturdy. Do yourself a favor, spend a little more from IKEA and you'll be much happier...
